Job description

As an Insights and Operations Partner on the People Platform / Head of Product team, you will be a strategic partner to one or more App Leaders, playing a critical role in their success and the overall effectiveness of a product line within our largest product area, the People Platform (Gusto’s all-in-one Payroll, Benefits and HR Platform). You will work hand-in-hand with product leadership, dividing and accomplishing on their agenda including: Planning, Product Roadmaps, MBR/QBRs and leading one-off strategic projects in services of the plan..


You will be a part of the Head of Product Central Team which consists of the Head of Product (Mike Cieri), Chief of Staff (Brandon Lassoff), two I&O Partners, and the Executive Operations Partner. This central team is responsible for streamlining operations, managing key initiatives, and fostering a smooth-running product organization.


As an I&O Partner, you will: 

  • Strategic and Operational Support: Provide high-level support to one or more app-leads including day-to-day operations, project management, and strategic planning.
  • Program Management: Own and manage a focused set of high-priority initiatives for the Head of Product, collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Design, and Marketing.
  • Communication and Content Creation: Craft clear and compelling communication materials for the product team, including presentations, meeting agendas, and status updates.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across various departments (e.g., Engineering, Design, Marketing) to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment on product goals.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve the Product team's processes and workflows, driving greater efficiency and effectiveness.

We are looking for a rising business leader with: 

  • 5+ years of experience in bizops, consulting, and/or program management, preferably in a high-growth technology startup environment OR 5+ years of experience in product management, program management, or a related field within a high-growth tech company.
  • Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
  • A passion for product development and a desire to make a significant impact on the success of Gusto's products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously

Our cash compensation range for this role is $152,000/yr to $200,000/yr in Denver, and $173,000 to $210,000 in San Francisco & New York. Remote locations will vary based on our geographical pay approach. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
