Job Lead Combat Designer en Remote

What You Will Do:

As a Lead Combat Designer, you will be the owner of several key features such as characters, controls, and camera. This position is tailored for an individual who is eager to lead through innovation and direct contribution, rather than through traditional managerial roles. You will pitch and implement content regarding players, NPCs, weapons, encounters, and more, along with peers from engineering, animation, character art, and level design. The ideal candidate will have both the experience to lead a small team and the courage to embrace innovative gameplay.

• Owning the design of gameplay mechanics that can empower multiple play styles.
• Leading the creation of characters, weapons, interactive props, and encounters that serve the core pillars of the game (combat, exploration, conversation).
• Collaborating closely with other leads to ensure a cohesive experience that elevates beyond its individual components.
• Delivering playable characters and encounters with the support of multiple departments.
• Iterating on gameplay systems and mechanics based on player feedback and data insights.

What We Are Looking For:

• At least five years of professional AAA game development experience.
• Deep understanding of gameplay mechanics in Action and RPG genres.
• Expert knowledge of combat design and hands-on implementation in games.
• Proven experience leading cross discipline teams to deliver key gameplay features.

Benefits:

The base pay range for this position is $150,000 to $250,000 USD per year. Actual pay is based on location and may vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, and experience from the candidate.
