Job description

About the Company:

We are a fast-growing tech startup based in Barcelona dedicated to experience analytics in the entertainment industry. Our major product is Antidote, an early stage game launcher where companies and gamers merge into a single awesome community, to create the experiences of the future. 

We are looking for a person who loves videogames and technology to join, and lead, our engineering team.

 

Mission:

As Antidote’s Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering of Antidote. This involves interacting with other teams in the company as well as customers, managing the engineering team and be involved in the engineering of our products: maintaining and improving Antidote’s core API (backend) and clients (Web app, Windows, Mac, Android and iOS), testing and validating the quality of new releases (QA), keep increasing the performance, redundancy and security of Antidote’s architecture, and contributing with new ideas and prototypes.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engineering team 

  • Interact with customers and other teams

  • Collaborate closely with the executive team to make strategic decisions regarding the company’s technology.

  • Design, develop, implement Antidote’s core API (backend) and clients (Web app, Windows, Mac, Android and iOS).

  • Ensure the quality of all software releases by leading the testing and validation processes (QA).

  • Maintain and improve the performance, redundancy, and security of Antidote’s architecture.

  • Contribute with new ideas for Antidote and develop new prototypes to enhance the product.

 

Required Skills:

  • Passionate about videogames and technology.

  • 10 years of experience in software engineering (whether in other companies or your own projects)

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and fast learning skills.

  • Experience in managing and leading teams, specially in a bottom-up approach.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies.

  • Strong knowledge of software engineering patterns and best practices.

  • Experience in full-stack web development environments, including REST APIs written in Node.JS persisting in MongoDB, web app clients created in AngularJS/Angular 2 to 13, mobile apps crafted in Ionic (>= v1x), and desktop apps built with Electron that interact with native features.

  • Experience in magic deployments into AWS, keeping a close eye on security and privacy.

  • Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Karma, Mocha, Cypress, etc.

  • English C1-C2 level (no need for a certification just 

 

Extras:

  • Any of the above required skills, but specialised in the videogame industry.

  • Know what the following have in common: 

    • LoL, CoD, OW, WoW, FIFA and Guybrush Threepwood.

  • Take fun really seriously.

 

About the Position:

You will get to work with an amazing international team. We do work remotely but we meet every week to spend time together (most days while playing games, of course). You will enjoy 24 days off every year, plus bank days, and on top of your salary there will be a bonus based on companies’ results.
